NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , after recent discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to overcome that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always rushing more than four pass rushers but they could plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths are his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it consumes time and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. The key is is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Ever since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
