Bills' Bay Day Gives Patriots Path to AFC East Lead - Highlights of Week 10 NFL Action

The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're among three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score
While you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the schedule
The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Next Week Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored forty points to reach 7-2 before next week's major game between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a game
Each could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
